The two rings

Hers

Linear contrast, hers

Three and a half millimetres with bars of white and yellow running across the face, so the two tones take turns around the finger. Comfort fit inside, so the inner edge is rounded rather than left square against the finger. About 1.8g in 9ct and 2.5g in 18ct. It is one half of a set: order it with the matching men's ring and the pair is ten per cent off.

About this set

Linear contrast, side by side

Here the two rings are cut identically. Each is three and a half millimetres wide and polished, with bars of white and yellow gold running across the face, so as the ring turns the two tones take turns around the finger. Worn side by side, the bars rarely line up: a hand at rest shows a little more white on one ring and a little more yellow on the other. The matching is in the design, and the movement of two different hands does the rest, which keeps an identical pair from ever looking static.

Each ring on its own

Each ring is a 3.5mm polished band with alternating bars of white and yellow across the face and a comfort fit inside. Both weigh about 1.8g in 9ct and 2.5g in 18ct. Because the two are the same design, either one bought alone looks exactly like its half of the set, and it sits well as a single two tone band beside a plain ring or an engagement ring.

Choosing between the options

With the design fixed, the decision is between 9ct and 18ct. The 9ct alloy is the harder and suits a ring that will see daily work; 18ct is heavier and warmer, and its yellow bars sit richer against the white. Identical rings are exactly what this set gives. Those who would rather each ring differ might look at Contrast texture, where the same two golds take a different finish on each band.

About the Linear contrast rings

Can I buy just one ring from the Linear contrast set?
Yes. Choose hers only or his only above and the ring is made on its own, at its own price (hers from £605, his from £605). The ten per cent only comes off when both rings are in the same order.
Do the two rings have to be the same size?
No. Each ring is made in its own size, and you choose the two separately. If one of you does not know their size yet, choose I do not know yet and we confirm it before anything is made.
What is the difference between the two Linear contrast rings?
Hers is 3.5mm in 9ct gold or 18ct gold, polished. His is 3.5mm in 9ct gold or 18ct gold, polished. Bars of white and yellow running across the face of both.
How much is the Linear contrast set in each gold?
In 9ct gold, £1,089 for both, saving £121 on £1,210. In 18ct gold, £1,687 for both, saving £187 on £1,874. Each figure includes UK delivery.
How long will the pair take?
About 4 weeks. The two are made together, so they arrive together, and the slower of the two rings sets the date.
