Prices include UK delivery and engraving. Weights are estimates for a plain 6mm band at UK size N with a 1.6mm wall (how they are worked out); the solid gold bands carry the maker's own weight on each ring's page. Surface hardness is on the Mohs scale, where a higher number resists fine scratches better.
Men's rings here run from 5mm to 10mm, most often 6mm or 8mm. The contemporary range includes black zirconium with a heat-grown oxide surface and lightweight titanium. Gold comes two ways: set into a channel for precious colour on a contemporary base, or as a solid 9ct or 18ct band that develops the marks expected of a softer precious metal. Scratch resistance, impact resistance and future repair are different questions, so compare the complete design rather than one hardness number.
Black wedding bands are the deepest part of the range: plain, relieved back to bright metal at the edges, grooved, stepped, hammered, faceted, or cut with a date in Roman numerals. Every one is made in your size and engraved inside at no charge. The black oxide is hard but not damage proof, so remove it for abrasive or high-impact work.
About men's rings
- What is the most durable metal for a men's wedding ring?
- There is no single winner for every kind of wear. GETi describes its black zirconium oxide as typically around Mohs 8, which means high scratch resistance, but the surface can still be damaged by harsh contact. Titanium is lighter and will show more fine marks. Gold marks more readily but a suitable design may offer familiar refinishing and resizing options. Compare the exact ring, your work and the care you will give it.
- Can a zirconium or titanium ring be resized?
- Ask the maker to assess the exact ring. GETi describes some resizing possibilities for titanium and black zirconium, depending on the design and required change. Confirm whether the original band can be altered or a remake is needed, and measure carefully before ordering.
- Can a black ring be cut off in an emergency?
- GETi's technical documentation says its black zirconium can be removed with a heavy-duty manual ring cutter or bolt cutters and does not shatter under pressure. In an emergency, tell the responder what the ring is made from and let them choose the equipment.
