Promise rings
Promise rings
A promise ring is whatever the two of you decide it is. These are the rings that suit the job: slim, made in your size, engraved inside for nothing, and priced so the promise is the point.

Promise rings, metal by metal
46 bands and 1 stone set ring in 4 metals. The least expensive is the plain titanium at £165. The widest go to 10mm. 27 cost under £300.
| Metal | Rings | Price | Widths | Surface | 6mm band, est. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Titanium | 17 | £165 to £385 | 4 to 10mm | Mohs 6 | 2.2g |
| Black zirconium | 12 | £199 to £365 | 4 to 10mm | Mohs 8 | 3.2g |
| Anodised zirconium | 13 | £269 to £365 | 4 to 10mm | Mohs 8.5 | 3.2g |
| Titanium with a precious inlay | 4 | £385 | 4 to 10mm | Mohs 6 | 2.2g |
Prices include UK delivery and engraving. Weights are estimates for a plain 6mm band at UK size N with a 1.6mm wall (how they are worked out); the solid gold bands carry the maker's own weight on each ring's page. Surface hardness is on the Mohs scale, where a higher number resists fine scratches better.
Two kinds of ring sell as promise rings. The first is a slim band, 4mm or 5mm, in a material that will not mind being worn every day: titanium, black zirconium, or anodised colour, with an engraving inside where only you know it is. The second is a small stone in a proper setting, chosen against its certificate exactly as our engagement rings are, at the bottom of the carat ladder where the price is friendly.
None of these is a lesser version of anything else on the site. The band is the same band a couple buys as a wedding ring in a narrower width; the stone ring is the same mount and the same graded stone as the engagement rings, half a carat rather than one. If it later becomes an engagement ring or a wedding ring, nothing about it needs to change.
About promise rings
- What finger does a promise ring go on?
- Wherever you like. Many people wear one on the ring finger of the right hand, or the left until an engagement ring replaces it. Measure the finger you intend to wear it on, because sizes differ between hands.
- Can a promise ring be engraved?
- Yes, inside the band, at no charge, up to thirty characters. It cannot then be returned for a change of mind, so measure first with the free size finder.
- Is a stone promise ring a real engagement ring?
- It is the same ring. The mount, the metal choice and the graded, certified stone are identical to the engagement range; the only difference is the carat you choose.
