When should you order your wedding rings?
About three months before the day is comfortable. For your own date, put it in below with the making time from your ring's page, and the planner gives the latest order date that still leaves time for sizing and a week to spare.
All figures are calendar days. A pair adds three days, an unmeasured size seven (ten for a surprise) and every date carries a seven-day buffer. Bank holidays are not counted. Use the date you need the rings in hand, including any travel before the ceremony.

Where to find your ring's making time
Every page in the ring range shows its making time. A plain titanium band and a natural diamond solitaire sit in different bands, which is why the planner asks. For a pair, choose the longer of the two.
Settle the size and engraving first
Measure both fingers in the width you are ordering: the ring size finder and band width guide cover both. Engraving is free up to 30 characters and typed on the order form, so settle the words before you order and the engraving preview shows how they fit.
When the rings arrive, try them on the same day. A ring that is the wrong size and not engraved goes back inside its returns window, and the resizing guide explains which metals can be altered later. For a very close date, tell us the day when you order.
Timing questions
- How far in advance should you order wedding rings?
- About three months before the wedding gives you room for everything. Our rings take 2 to 3 weeks or about 4 weeks to make, depending on the design, and every ring page shows which. The rest of the time is for trying them on and, if a size is out, sending one back inside its returns window with weeks to spare.
- How long does a wedding ring take to make?
- 2 to 3 weeks for most bands, or about 4 weeks for stone-set and some precious rings. The making time is printed on every ring page. Engraving is chosen on the order form and made with the ring.
- When should I order an engagement ring before proposing?
- Six weeks ahead is comfortable for most rings in the range: about 4 weeks is the longest making time we quote, and the rest covers delivery and settling the size. If the proposal is abroad, count back from the day you travel, not the day you ask.
- What if my rings arrive and the size is wrong?
- Send the ring back inside its returns window, 30 days on most bands and 14 on solid gold bands and stone set rings, as long as it is not engraved. That is why the planner leaves a week or more for sizing. Later on, plain gold and platinum bands can be resized by a jeweller, and titanium can often be made a little larger.
- Can wedding rings be rushed?
- Most bands in the range are made in 2 to 3 weeks, so with a close date, choose from those and tell us the day you need them. Faster postage shortens the delivery, not the making, so the making time is the number to plan around.
- Should we add the making times for a pair of wedding rings?
- No: plan from the longer of the two. The planner then adds three days for bringing the pair together, so both rings arrive with time to try them on side by side.
- Does the planner count working days or calendar days?
- Calendar days. 2 to 3 weeks counts as 21 calendar days and about 4 weeks as 28. The planner then adds the sizing, pair and buffer allowances shown, so the date it gives already has room built in.
- How accurate is the suggested order date?
- It is built from the ring's making time plus allowances for sizing, a pair and a week to spare, so ordering on or before it leaves comfortable room. Bank holidays are not counted, so add a few days if your date falls near Christmas or Easter.
