Naturally white like platinum, hypoallergenic like platinum, hallmarkable since 2010, and a little over half the weight. The sensible answer for anyone who wants a white precious metal without either the heft or the price of platinum.

Less familiar than the other three, so it has weaker resale. If you are buying to keep, that does not matter.
Resizing. Yes. A plain palladium 950 band can be made larger or smaller by a jeweller, the way wedding rings have always been resized. The exception is a band set with stones all the way round, where there is nowhere to cut without disturbing a stone, so on those the size is settled when you order. - Can a palladium 950 ring be resized?
- Yes. A plain palladium 950 band can be made larger or smaller by a jeweller, the way wedding rings have always been resized. The exception is a band set with stones all the way round, where there is nowhere to cut without disturbing a stone, so on those the size is settled when you order.
- Is palladium 950 hard wearing?
- Its surface sits at Mohs 4.75. For comparison, airborne dust contains quartz at Mohs 7, which is why anything below that picks up fine scratches from ordinary wear. This is well below it, so expect marks. They polish out.
- Is palladium 950 hallmarked?
- Yes, at the Birmingham Assay Office. Gold over 1g and platinum over 0.5g must legally carry a UK hallmark, and ours do.
- How heavy is a palladium 950 ring?
- 12 grams per cubic centimetre. Titanium is the lightest thing we make at 4.5 and platinum the heaviest at 21.4, so this sits in the middle of the range.
- Is palladium 950 safe for sensitive skin?
- Yes. It contains no nickel, which is the metal that causes almost all jewellery reactions.
