About this ring

Celtic, gold lines, in detail

A broad titanium band, 10mm wide, with a run of Celtic knotwork laser cut between two flush lines of solid 9ct gold. The gold lines act as borders, like the ruled edges of an illuminated page, and the knot runs between them in the grey of the titanium, strand passing over strand. The width is essential to the design: at 10mm the interlace has room to read clearly from end to end. It is the richest of the inlay rings, bringing pattern, precious metal and a generous band together in one piece.

How it wears

At 10mm this is a substantial ring, and titanium is what makes that comfortable: at about 4.5 grams per cubic centimetre it carries its width without carrying weight. Titanium can pick up fine marks, and the cut relief of the knotwork hides them better than a plain face would. The gold lines are flush, so the edges of the band stay smooth against neighbouring fingers. Hypoallergenic throughout. Abrasive or heavy impact work is the time to take it off.

Choosing yours

There is one width, 10mm, because the knot needs it, so the real choice is the gold. Yellow gives the warmest and most traditional borders; rose is softer against the grey titanium; white keeps the whole ring cool and leaves the knot to do the talking. It suits a broader hand, or anyone who wants a ring that is plainly a statement. For a partner who wants the same interlace without gold, Celtic in titanium and Celtic, black share the knot at any width from 4 to 10mm.

The width

The width this ring is made in
WidthHow it readsWeight, est.Price
10mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.6g £625

Weights are estimates for a plain band of the same width in titanium at UK size N with a 1.6mm wall, from the model in our ring weight calculator. A pattern cut into the surface removes a little metal, so the finished ring is slightly lighter. Every width is the same price.

The metal, in brief

Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.

Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

Compared side by side: Anodised zirconium or titanium, Black zirconium or titanium, Sterling silver or titanium. Or read the full titanium guide.

About Celtic, gold lines

Can this ring be resized?
Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
Is engraving included?
Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
How long will it take?
2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order rather than picked off a shelf, in the one width this design is made in.
Can I return it if I have it engraved?
Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
How much does the Celtic, gold lines ring weigh?
About 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
What is closest to the Celtic, gold lines in the range?
Hammered black, gold line (black zirconium with gold inlay) and Rose on relieved black (black zirconium with gold inlay). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
What if I get the size wrong?
If it is unengraved, return it inside 30 days and we refund it, and we pay the postage. Use the free ring size finder first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
