Hammered titanium, diamond set

From £385

Hand hammered titanium with one flush set diamond.

The band is hammered by hand so the facets never repeat, then a single diamond is set level with the surface. Bright titanium rather than black, so the hammer marks read as light rather than shadow.

About this ring

Hammered titanium, diamond set, in detail

The surface of this band is hammered by hand, so it is covered in small facets that never repeat, and in bright titanium each facet throws back the light at its own angle. One small diamond is set flush among them. Where Hammered black reads as shadow and texture, this reads as glitter: the whole ring shimmers faintly as it moves, and the diamond is the sharpest spark within it. It sits somewhere between a plain band and a stone set ring, made by hand rather than by machine.

How it wears

A hammered surface is forgiving on a light metal like titanium. The facets are already a pattern of small dents and planes, so the fine marks of daily wear disappear into them. The diamond, 0.03 of a carat and Mohs 10, is flush set, so it has no claws to snag or work loose. Titanium is hypoallergenic and weighs very little. Abrasive work is still worth taking it off for.

Choosing yours

Because every band is hammered by hand, no two match exactly, which suits someone who likes a ring that is clearly made rather than manufactured. At 4 to 6mm the hammering reads as a fine shimmer around the stone; at 8 to 10mm it has room to show its rhythm and the diamond becomes a detail on a broad, lively surface. It pairs with itself. For a partner who would rather have no stone, Hammered titanium shares the hand hammered surface without the diamond.

Width by width

Each width this ring is made in
WidthHow it readsWeight, est.Price
4mm Slim, the quietest everyday width 1.5g £385
5mm Between slim and classic 1.8g £385
6mm Classic, the usual starting point for a band 2.2g £385
7mm Classic to broad, more of the pattern shows 2.5g £385
8mm Broad, a ring that is clearly there 2.9g £410
9mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.3g £410
10mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.6g £410

Weights are estimates for a plain band of the same width in titanium at UK size N with a 1.6mm wall, from the model in our ring weight calculator. A pattern cut into the surface removes a little metal, so the finished ring is slightly lighter. The price steps up at the widths that take more metal to make.

The metal, in brief

Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.

Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

Compared side by side: Anodised zirconium or titanium, Black zirconium or titanium, Sterling silver or titanium. Or read the full titanium guide.

About Hammered titanium, diamond set

Can this ring be resized?
Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
Is engraving included?
Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
How long will it take?
2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
Can I return it if I have it engraved?
Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
How much does the Hammered titanium, diamond set ring weigh?
About 1.5g at 4mm, 2.2g at 6mm, 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
What widths does it come in, and do they cost the same?
4 to 10mm. 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm are £385, and 8mm, 9mm, 10mm £410, because the wider bands take more metal to make.
What is closest to the Hammered titanium, diamond set in the range?
Wood inlay (titanium) and Aztec, titanium (titanium). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
What if I get the size wrong?
If it is unengraved, return it inside 30 days and we refund it, and we pay the postage. Use the free ring size finder first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
