Chevrons, titanium

From £299

A run of chevrons cut into the band.

Chevrons are cut around a titanium court so the ring reads as a line of arrows, satin against bright. Geometric rather than decorative, and one of the few patterns that suits a narrow width.

About this ring

Chevrons, titanium, in detail

Chevrons are cut one after another around a titanium court, so the band reads as a line of arrows circling the finger. The cut faces sit bright against a satin ground, and each point carries a crisp edge of light. It is geometric rather than ornamental, closer to a graphic mark than a flourish, and that restraint is where its strength lies. Of the patterned titanium rings it is the one with direction: the crossing lines drift, the ribs repeat, and the chevrons move.

How it wears

A titanium court is rounded inside, so it slips on easily and sits comfortably through a long day, and the metal is so light it is barely noticed. The satin ground absorbs the small marks of daily wear, and the cut pattern breaks up the surface so they are harder still to find. The bright faces may mellow with years of wear, which takes nothing from the shape. Titanium is hypoallergenic; it is a ring to remove for heavy or abrasive work.

Choosing yours

Seven widths, from 4 to 10mm, and this is one of the few patterns that holds its shape at the narrow end: a 4 or 5mm band still reads clearly as chevrons, so it suits a slimmer finger without losing the design. At 8 to 10mm the points grow bolder and the ring becomes a strong graphic band for a larger hand.

Two chevron rings at different widths make a natural set, the same mark at two sizes. A good fit for anyone drawn to clean lines and modern shapes.

Width by width

Each width this ring is made in
WidthHow it readsWeight, est.Price
4mm Slim, the quietest everyday width 1.5g £299
5mm Between slim and classic 1.8g £299
6mm Classic, the usual starting point for a band 2.2g £299
7mm Classic to broad, more of the pattern shows 2.5g £299
8mm Broad, a ring that is clearly there 2.9g £325
9mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.3g £325
10mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.6g £325

Weights are estimates for a plain band of the same width in titanium at UK size N with a 1.6mm wall, from the model in our ring weight calculator. A pattern cut into the surface removes a little metal, so the finished ring is slightly lighter. The price steps up at the widths that take more metal to make.

The metal, in brief

Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.

Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

About Chevrons, titanium

Can this ring be resized?
Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
Is engraving included?
Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
How long will it take?
2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
Can I return it if I have it engraved?
Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
How much does the Chevrons, titanium ring weigh?
About 1.5g at 4mm, 2.2g at 6mm, 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
What widths does it come in, and do they cost the same?
4 to 10mm. 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm are £299, and 8mm, 9mm, 10mm £325, because the wider bands take more metal to make.
What is closest to the Chevrons, titanium in the range?
Crossing lines, titanium (titanium) and Celtic (titanium). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
What if I get the size wrong?
If it is unengraved, return it inside 30 days and we refund it, and we pay the postage. Use the free ring size finder first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
