Before you choose
What a gold-inlaid titanium ring actually gives you
This is a titanium wedding ring with a separate strip of solid gold set into its centre. It is not gold plating and it is not a solid-gold ring with a grey coating. Knowing which metal does which job makes the trade-offs much clearer.
| Question | Straight answer |
|---|---|
| Is the gold solid? | Yes. The gold sits flush in a machined channel rather than being plated over the titanium. |
| What is hallmarked? | The precious-metal component. UK mixed-metal guidance requires the base and precious parts to remain visibly distinct and the hallmark to be applied to the precious part. |
| How heavy is the base? | Titanium has a density of about 4.5 g/cm³, so the band stays much lighter than a comparable solid precious-metal ring. |
| Can a local jeweller resize it? | No. Titanium is not cut and rejoined like gold. The workshop can assess some adjustments, but size should be settled before the ring is made. |
| Which widths are available? | 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm and 8mm, all with a satin titanium finish. |
Choose the gold colour before the width
9ct yellow gives the clearest warm contrast against cool grey titanium. 9ct rose is softer and slightly less stark. 9ct white keeps the ring almost monochrome, with the polished centre line showing through reflection rather than colour. These are solid inlays, so the choice is the metal itself rather than a surface colour that can wear away. The inlay is 9ct rather than 18ct on purpose: 9ct is the harder alloy, and a thin line set flush in a hard metal needs to wear at something like the same rate.
Then settle the fit
A 4mm version reads restrained; 6mm is the middle of this range; 8mm gives the gold line more surrounding titanium and feels visually broader. Use the band-width guide to compare those proportions, then the ring-size finder before ordering. The guide explains the choice; the tools do the measuring.

The metal, in brief
Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.
Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

About Titanium wedding ring with gold inlay
- Can this ring be resized?
- Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
- Is engraving included?
- Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
- How long will it take?
- 2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
- Can I return it if I have it engraved?
- Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
- How much does the Gold line, titanium ring weigh?
- About 1.5g at 4mm, 2.2g at 6mm, 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
- What widths does it come in, and do they cost the same?
- 4 to 10mm. 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm are £385, and 8mm, 9mm, 10mm £410, because the wider bands take more metal to make.
- What is closest to the Gold line, titanium in the range?
- Rose line, titanium (titanium with gold inlay) and Platinum line, titanium (titanium with gold inlay). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
- What if I get the size wrong?
- If it is unengraved, return it inside 30 days and we refund it, and we pay the postage. Use the free ring size finder first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
