Three diamonds, titanium

From £595

Three diamonds in a row, flush set in polished titanium.

Three round diamonds set level with the surface of a domed titanium band, reducing the raised profile of the setting. The classic trilogy in a very light metal; the titanium can still develop fine surface marks, so remove it for abrasive or high-impact work.

About this ring

Three diamonds, titanium, in detail

Three round diamonds sit in a row on a domed, polished titanium band. Each is set level with the surface, so in place of a raised setting there is a smooth curve with three points of light in it. It is the classic trilogy, redrawn in a very light metal. The polish turns the whole ring bright, and the stones read as concentrated sparks within that brightness rather than as a separate feature. The dome rounds the band from edge to edge, which softens its look from the side.

How it wears

With the stones flush in the metal, there is less to catch than on a raised trilogy setting. The diamonds are untreated and Mohs 10. The polished titanium around them is Mohs 6, and in time it will gather fine surface marks that mellow the mirror slightly; that is how polished titanium ages, not a fault in it. Abrasive or high-impact work is the time to take it off. The metal is hypoallergenic and very light.

Choosing yours

The three stones total 0.09 of a carat, and width decides how they sit. On a 4 or 5mm band they fill the face and the ring looks generously set, which suits a slimmer finger; at 9 or 10mm they become a compact line on a broad curve of metal. It pairs with itself. For a couple who want one light ring and one dark, Three diamonds, black carries the same arrangement in black zirconium, along a bright polished groove.

Width by width

Each width this ring is made in
WidthHow it readsWeight, est.Price
4mm Slim, the quietest everyday width 1.5g £595
5mm Between slim and classic 1.8g £595
6mm Classic, the usual starting point for a band 2.2g £595
7mm Classic to broad, more of the pattern shows 2.5g £595
8mm Broad, a ring that is clearly there 2.9g £620
9mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.3g £620
10mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.6g £620

Weights are estimates for a plain band of the same width in titanium at UK size N with a 1.6mm wall, from the model in our ring weight calculator. A pattern cut into the surface removes a little metal, so the finished ring is slightly lighter. The price steps up at the widths that take more metal to make.

The metal, in brief

Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.

Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

About Three diamonds, titanium

Can this ring be resized?
Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
Is engraving included?
Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
How long will it take?
2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
Can I return it if I have it engraved?
Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
How much does the Three diamonds, titanium ring weigh?
About 1.5g at 4mm, 2.2g at 6mm, 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
What widths does it come in, and do they cost the same?
4 to 10mm. 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm are £595, and 8mm, 9mm, 10mm £620, because the wider bands take more metal to make.
What is closest to the Three diamonds, titanium in the range?
Wildflowers, diamond set (titanium) and Hammered titanium, diamond set (titanium). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
