Twin lines, titanium

From £199

Two polished lines across satin titanium.

Two fine polished lines run around a satin titanium band, bright against matte. The same idea as the twin lines in black, in the metal it was first cut in, and the two make a pair.

About this ring

Twin lines, titanium, in detail

Two narrow polished lines run side by side around a satin titanium band. Against the soft grey they read as two threads of brightness, and the space between them matters as much as the lines: the ring looks measured and calm. This is the design in the natural metal it was first cut in. The black version sets the same lines against a dark band, a sharper and more graphic contrast; in titanium the effect is gentler, shine against matte within a single colour, more felt than seen.

How it wears

Titanium is the lightest metal in the range and hypoallergenic, so this sits easily on a hand that is not used to wearing a ring. The satin face blurs the fine marks of daily life well. The polished lines are where wear shows first, mellowing slowly from mirror to a soft sheen, and the ring keeps its character as they do. It is worth removing for heavy or abrasive work; otherwise it needs nothing more than an occasional wash.

Choosing yours

There are seven widths, 4 to 10mm. On a 4 or 5mm band the two lines are the ring's whole character and the band reads fine and restrained; from 7mm up there is more satin around them, and the lines become a deliberate detail on a broader hand.

The design was made to pair with Twin lines, black: one ring in natural titanium, one in black, the same lines on both, so the two clearly belong together without being the same. The titanium is the one for someone who prefers lighter tones and a quieter contrast.

The metal, in brief

Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.

Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

Compared side by side: Anodised zirconium or titanium, Black zirconium or titanium, Sterling silver or titanium. Or read the full titanium guide.

About Twin lines, titanium

Can this ring be resized?
Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
Is engraving included?
Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
How long will it take?
2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
Can I return it if I have it engraved?
Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
How much does the Twin lines, titanium ring weigh?
About 1.5g at 4mm, 2.2g at 6mm, 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
What widths does it come in, and do they cost the same?
4 to 10mm. 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 10mm are £199, and 8mm, 9mm £225, because the wider bands take more metal to make.
What is closest to the Twin lines, titanium in the range?
Ribbed, titanium (titanium) and Faceted, titanium (titanium). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
What if I get the size wrong?
If it is unengraved, return it inside 30 days and we refund it, and we pay the postage. Use the free ring size finder first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
