About this ring

Deep cuts run across this 7mm band at steady intervals, each one textured, with bright polished gold left standing between them: light, shadow, light, all the way round. The pattern reads from across a room, the grooves registering as clear dark lines against the shine. At about 2.3g in 9ct it carries a little more metal than the women's ring of the same width, so it sits more solidly on the finger.
How it wears
The deep textured cuts conceal the everyday scuffs that 9ct gold takes at Mohs 3.5, and the polished strips, which do show them, are narrow enough that the marks never dominate. When the shine on those strips softens, a polish brings it back. On a band this wide the comfort fit is doing real work, rounding the inside so the ring closes comfortably around a grip and comes off without a fight.

Seven millimetres is the only width, a broad band that suits a larger hand or anyone who likes a ring with real presence. In 9ct it weighs about 2.3g and is the harder alloy; in 18ct it is about 3.2g, heavier and with more gold in it. - A plain 9ct gold band may suit conventional resizing, but the metal alone does not establish a safe size range.
