About this ring
Two tone faceted, 7mm in 9ct or 18ct gold, in detail
Seven millimetres in two golds. The yellow face is cut into sharp diamond shaped facets, each a small mirror of its own, and a satin white gold stripe runs along one edge. The stripe is the quiet part of the design: it gives the eye somewhere to rest, so the band sparkles in sections rather than all at once. Bold but controlled, it is a wide ring with a clear structure, closer to a piece of engineering than to an ornament.
How it wears
Facets handle everyday wear well. On 9ct gold, Mohs 3.5, fine marks scatter among the cuts instead of standing out, and the satin white stripe hides scuffs in its brushed grain. The sharp edges of the facets round slightly over years of wear, softening the sparkle a little without losing the pattern. 9ct is not hypoallergenic, and the white gold stripe is not suited to skin that reacts to nickel.
Choosing yours
There is one width, 7mm, the broadest in the gold range alongside Cross weave, and it suits a larger hand or someone who wants a ring with presence. In 18ct it weighs about 3.1g and the yellow facets take on a deeper glow against the white; in 9ct it is about 2.2g and a little harder. The stripe ties yellow and white together, which helps anyone who wears both. Cross weave is its nearest neighbour: one textures the whole face, the other divides it.

The metal, in brief
37.5% gold against 18ct's 75%, so roughly half the metal cost in a year when bullion set an all time record. It is also the harder alloy of the two, which matters more on a ring worn daily than the carat number does. Fully hallmarked, with resizing options that depend on the finished design, and a British standard that has been sold here for over a century.
Surface hardness Mohs 3.5, density 11.2 g/cm³. As a precious metal it is hallmarked under UK law.

About Two tone faceted, 7mm in 9ct or 18ct gold
- Can this ring be resized?
- A plain 9ct gold band may suit conventional resizing, but the metal alone does not establish a safe size range. Stones, settings, pattern and condition can restrict an alteration; full eternity is not the only difficult design. GIA warns against stretching platinum bands containing stones. Have the finished ring assessed for the size and direction of change, and confirm the method, finish, cost and timing before work begins.
- How long will it take?
- About 4 weeks. It is made in your size after you order rather than picked off a shelf, in the one width this design is made in.
- What is closest to the Two tone faceted in the range?
- Satin granulated, hers (9ct gold) and Horizontal textured, his (9ct gold). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
- What if I get the size wrong?
- Return it inside 14 days and we refund it, and we pay the postage. Use the free ring size finder first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
