Runes, titanium
From £269
Norse runes cut around the band.
The runic alphabet runs around the outside of a satin titanium court, laser cut to a controlled depth so each letter sits in its own shadow. Titanium keeps the band much lighter than the same dimensions in a precious-metal reference. Your own words or a date can be cut in runes instead, and only the two of you will read it.

About this ring
Runes, titanium, in detail
The runic alphabet, cut around the outside of a satin titanium court band. Runes are all straight strokes and sharp angles, which suits a cut line in metal: each character is laser cut to a controlled depth, so it sits in its own thread of shadow against the soft grey ground. The court profile curves gently on the inside and out. At a glance the band looks like an angular frieze; read closely, it can say something, because your own words or a date can be cut in runes in place of the alphabet.
How it wears
Titanium makes this a very light ring, under a third the density of 18ct yellow gold, which is welcome on a band carrying cut lettering at width. Its surface can take on fine marks with time, and the runes help: the recesses stay crisp and shadowed while the satin face between them softens small scuffs into the finish. Keeping it off the hand for abrasive or heavy work is what keeps the edge of each character sharp. The metal is hypoallergenic.
Choosing yours
A run of the alphabet suits anyone drawn to the look of the script. A personal inscription in runes suits a couple who want words on the ring that nobody else will read. Widths run from 4 to 10mm: a narrower band carries smaller characters and a quieter pattern, while 8mm and above gives each rune more height and a bolder line. The ring pairs with itself, so two bands can carry the same message, or one each, at the widths that suit each hand.
Width by width
| Width | How it reads | Weight, est. | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4mm | Slim, the quietest everyday width | 1.5g | £269 |
| 5mm | Between slim and classic | 1.8g | £269 |
| 6mm | Classic, the usual starting point for a band | 2.2g | £269 |
| 7mm | Classic to broad, more of the pattern shows | 2.5g | £269 |
| 8mm | Broad, a ring that is clearly there | 2.9g | £295 |
| 9mm | Wide and bold, best on a larger hand | 3.3g | £295 |
| 10mm | Wide and bold, best on a larger hand | 3.6g | £295 |
Weights are estimates for a plain band of the same width in titanium at UK size N with a 1.6mm wall, from the model in our ring weight calculator. A pattern cut into the surface removes a little metal, so the finished ring is slightly lighter. The price steps up at the widths that take more metal to make.

The metal, in brief
Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.
Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

About Runes, titanium
- Can this ring be resized?
- Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
- Is engraving included?
- Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
- How long will it take?
- 2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
- Can I return it if I have it engraved?
- Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
- How much does the Runes, titanium ring weigh?
- About 1.5g at 4mm, 2.2g at 6mm, 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
- What widths does it come in, and do they cost the same?
- 4 to 10mm. 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm are £269, and 8mm, 9mm, 10mm £295, because the wider bands take more metal to make.
- What is closest to the Runes, titanium in the range?
- Celtic (titanium) and Ogham, titanium (titanium). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
- What if I get the size wrong?
- If it is unengraved, return it inside 30 days and we refund it, and we pay the postage. Use the free ring size finder first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
