Faceted, titanium

From £199

Cut into ten flat planes rather than a curve.

The band is machined into ten shallow facets around its circumference, so it reads as cut stone rather than polished metal, and each plane catches the light at its own angle. Titanium keeps it much lighter than the same dimensions in a precious-metal reference; confirm the exact grade and finish on the order.

About this ring

Faceted, titanium, in detail

Rather than a curve, the outside of this band is ten flat planes machined round its circumference. Each plane meets the light at its own angle, so the ring shows a sequence of separate bright and darker faces, like cut stone, instead of the single running highlight of a polished court. The lines between the facets are crisp and visible. In plain titanium, with no colour to compete, the geometry is the whole design, and it looks precise and quietly modern on the hand.

How it wears

Titanium is light, about 4.5 grams per cubic centimetre, so even a wide faceted band sits easily. It is around Mohs 6, and the flat faces will collect fine marks with wear; because each plane reflects differently, those marks rarely line up into one continuous scuff. The ridges between facets are where contact lands first. Titanium is hypoallergenic, so it suits sensitive skin, and taking the ring off for heavy or abrasive work keeps the planes sharp.

Choosing yours

With ten facets around the band, width sets the shape of each one. On a narrow band every plane is a long, slim strip and the effect is subtle; on a wide band the planes become broad faces that each hold more light, and the cut reads boldly.

Faceted, anodised is the same idea in coloured zirconium, which makes a natural partner if one of you wants colour and the other does not. It suits someone who finds a plain band too plain but wants no pattern and no stone.

Width by width

Each width this ring is made in
WidthHow it readsWeight, est.Price
4mm Slim, the quietest everyday width 1.5g £199
5mm Between slim and classic 1.8g £199
6mm Classic, the usual starting point for a band 2.2g £199
7mm Classic to broad, more of the pattern shows 2.5g £199
8mm Broad, a ring that is clearly there 2.9g £225
9mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.3g £225
10mm Wide and bold, best on a larger hand 3.6g £225

Weights are estimates for a plain band of the same width in titanium at UK size N with a 1.6mm wall, from the model in our ring weight calculator. A pattern cut into the surface removes a little metal, so the finished ring is slightly lighter. The price steps up at the widths that take more metal to make.

The metal, in brief

Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.

Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

About Faceted, titanium

Can this ring be resized?
Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
Is engraving included?
Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
How long will it take?
2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
Can I return it if I have it engraved?
Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
How much does the Faceted, titanium ring weigh?
About 1.5g at 4mm, 2.2g at 6mm, 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
What widths does it come in, and do they cost the same?
4 to 10mm. 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm are £199, and 8mm, 9mm, 10mm £225, because the wider bands take more metal to make.
What is closest to the Faceted, titanium in the range?
Hammered titanium (titanium) and Morse code, titanium (titanium). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
