About this ring
Hammered gold inlay, titanium, in detail
A 3mm inlay of solid 9ct gold is set into titanium and then hammered after setting, so the gold carries a field of small facets while the titanium either side stays smooth. Each facet catches the light separately, and the gold glints rather than gleams, flickering as the hand moves. The contrast is between textures as much as metals: a worked, uneven centre held between two calm bands. It comes in rose, yellow or white gold, and it is the one inlay ring in the range where the gold itself has been shaped by hand.
How it wears
Hammered surfaces are forgiving. The facets already break up the light, so the fine marks of daily wear disappear into them, and that suits a gold centre especially well. The titanium bands either side are smooth and very light, and over time they can pick up fine surface marks of their own. The gold is inlaid flush with the titanium, so the hammered centre sits level with the smooth edges, and the ring is hypoallergenic. Abrasive or high impact jobs are still best done with it off.
Choosing yours
Rose gold makes the hammering warmest and most visible; yellow is traditional and bright; white sits close to the titanium in tone, so texture becomes the main difference between centre and edge. On narrow widths the hammered gold fills almost all of the face, while 8 to 10mm gives it a wider frame of smooth titanium. It suits someone who likes a ring that looks made rather than manufactured, and it pairs well with Wide gold inlay, titanium for a couple who want the same gold in two textures.

The metal, in brief
Titanium is by a distance the lightest metal we make rings in. At about 4.5 g per cubic centimetre it is under a third the reference density of 18ct yellow gold. GETi says it normally uses Grade 2 for its designs and reserves higher-tensile Grade 5 for tension-set rings, so the exact grade belongs in the specification of the ring rather than a range-wide claim.
Surface hardness Mohs 6, density 4.5 g/cm³, and hypoallergenic, so it is a sound choice for skin that reacts to nickel. It is not a precious metal, so it carries no hallmark.

About Hammered gold inlay, titanium
- Can this ring be resized?
- Limited enlargement may be possible. GETi says grade 5 titanium cannot be stretched or compressed: machining the inside larger removes metal and cannot reduce the size. Wall thickness, stones and inlays limit that option. Grade 2 titanium has different possibilities, so check the actual grade and design. A remake may be offered instead; confirm what happens to the original ring, engraving and finish before agreeing.
- Is engraving included?
- Yes, and it is optional. Leave the box blank and the ring is made plain. If you do want one it is laser cut inside the band where the ring is made, rather than sent out to a third party, and there is no charge and no extra wait.
- How long will it take?
- 2 to 3 weeks. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
- Can I return it if I have it engraved?
- Not for a change of mind. An engraving makes the ring clearly personalised, which puts it outside the statutory right to cancel, and it cannot be resold. Every ring shop draws the line here. Order it plain and you keep the full 30 days. Either way, a ring that arrives faulty or is not what you ordered is covered by the Consumer Rights Act, which nothing waives.
- How much does the Hammered gold inlay, titanium ring weigh?
- About 1.5g at 4mm, 2.2g at 6mm, 3.6g at 10mm, estimated for a plain band in titanium at UK size N. Larger sizes and wider bands weigh more. It is a light ring by any standard: 18ct gold of the same size is more than twice the weight.
- What widths does it come in, and do they cost the same?
- 4 to 10mm. 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm are £795, and 8mm, 9mm, 10mm £820, because the wider bands take more metal to make.
- What is closest to the Hammered gold inlay, titanium in the range?
- Wide gold inlay, titanium (titanium with gold inlay) and Gold line, three diamonds (titanium with gold inlay). The comparison table on this page sets them side by side on metal, width, hardness and price.
- What if I get the size wrong?
- If it is unengraved, return it inside 30 days and we refund it, and we pay the postage. Use the free ring size finder first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
