The densest thing we sell at 21.4 g per cubic centimetre, nearly five times titanium. Naturally white, so it never needs replating the way white gold does, and hypoallergenic. When people say a ring feels expensive, this is usually the weight they mean.

Honestly
Platinum does not lose metal when scratched, it moves it, so it develops a soft patina rather than wearing thin. Some people love that and some ask us to polish it back.
Resizing. Yes. A plain platinum 950 band can be made larger or smaller by a jeweller, the way wedding rings have always been resized. The exception is a band set with stones all the way round, where there is nowhere to cut without disturbing a stone, so on those the size is settled when you order. More on which rings can be altered.
Measure with the free size finder and every ring is made to that size. If you are not sure yet, order with "I do not know yet" and we confirm the size with you before anything is made, and an unengraved ring can come back within 14 days.

- Can a platinum 950 ring be resized?
- Yes. A plain platinum 950 band can be made larger or smaller by a jeweller, the way wedding rings have always been resized. The exception is a band set with stones all the way round, where there is nowhere to cut without disturbing a stone, so on those the size is settled when you order.
- Is platinum 950 hard wearing?
- Its surface sits at Mohs 4.5. For comparison, airborne dust contains quartz at Mohs 7, which is why anything below that picks up fine scratches from ordinary wear. This is well below it, so expect marks. They polish out.
- Is platinum 950 hallmarked?
- Yes, at the Birmingham Assay Office. Gold over 1g and platinum over 0.5g must legally carry a UK hallmark, and ours do.
- How heavy is a platinum 950 ring?
- 21.4 grams per cubic centimetre. Titanium is the lightest thing we make at 4.5 and platinum the heaviest at 21.4, so this sits at the heavy end of the range.
- Is platinum 950 safe for sensitive skin?
- Yes. It contains no nickel, which is the metal that causes almost all jewellery reactions.
